I thought I’d share with you all some of the mail I get and my responses since I haven’t time to reply to you all.

Your separation of kink from sexual arousal intrigues me. Is it the pursuit of new physical sensations or do the concepts themselves attract you?

For me fetish and sex do not necessarily have to go hand in hand, they can compliment each other nicely but sexual contact/ arousal is not needed to make a sense any better, I often find fetish in itself fulfilling. This is not to say I don’t get aroused but I feel able to be sexual or fetishistically aroused, that’s the difference between wanting to suck someone’s cock or for them to beat the shit out of you. Equally fetish and BDSM mean a lot more to me than an alternative to sex or an extension of it.

For me fetishistic acts, including sensory deprivation, pain and control all have aspects of ritual about them, aspects of endurance. And through going through these experiences I learn about my body, I get to different spaces of feeling/ being. (last play session I got to the point where I no longer felt part of my body) Equally sacrifice and suffering are very important to me, consider flagellant penetants, rites of passage and tribal rituals. Pain and endurance have been important to the human race for centuries and, by embracing these situations I follow that line and reap the same benefits.
